VinFast has revealed the right-hand drive (RHD) version of the VF6 at this year’s Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) in Surabaya. The B-segment SUV, which first made its debut back in January 2022, will be offered in two variants in the country.
The first is the Eco that is priced at 396,995,000 rupiah (about RM103k) and features a front electric motor rated at 177 PS (174 hp or 130 kW) and 250 Nm of torque. Next comes the Plus at 451.6 million rupiah (RM117k) that gets a more powerful motor with 204 PS (201 hp or 150 kW) and 310 Nm.
Both variants are powered by a 59.6-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that provides a WLTP-rated range of up to 399 km (480 km NEDC) for the Eco, and 381 km (460 km NEDC) for the Plus. Through DC fast charging (CCS2), a 10-70% state of charge can be achieved in just 25 minutes.
As part of an ongoing sales promotion, the VF6 is being offered with free charging at VinFast stations operated by V-Green through March 1, 2028, and an accessory gift package valued at 13,345,000 rupiah (RM3.5k).
Adding to this is a cashback of up to 15 million rupiah (RM3.9k) and complimentary one-year comprehensive risk insurance available at IIMS Surabaya 2025, which is applicable for all cash purchases made before June 30 this year.
The VF6 measures 4,241 mm long, 1,834 mm wide, 1,580 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. For context, the electric vehicle (EV) is in the ballpark of the BYD Dolphin we have here that is 4,290 mm long, 1,770 mm wide, 1,570 mm tall and with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.
In terms of equipment, both variants come with LED headlamps, a head-up display, a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, six speakers, keyless entry and start, ABS, EBD, brake assist, traction control, hill start assist, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay Support as well as telematics.
Being the range-topper, the Plus comes with 18-inch wheels instead of the Eco’s 17-inch units, with other improvements being a powered driver’s seat (manual for the Eco), dual-zone climate control (single-zone for the Eco) and vegan leather seat upholstery (fabric for the Eco).
The Plus is also the only variant to get an ADAS suite that includes traffic jam and highway assist, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane centring control, automatic lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, door open warning, front and rear autonomous emergency braking, emergency lane keeping, a 360-degree camera, automatic high beam and driver fatigue monitoring.
In Indonesia, VinFast provides a vehicle exchange and buy-back policy, offering up to 90% of the vehicle’s value after six months and 70% after three years for all models sold in Indoesia. This is to quell concerns regarding residual value and provides customers with peace of mind and flexibility should they choose to upgrade in the future.
