On a few occasions, Mirren has dyed her famous silver locks bold hues, including the time she went cotton candy pink for the 2019 Best Years of a Life premiere with Andie MacDowell and when she switched up her look with cool monochromatic blue updo for 2023’s opening ceremony. She also embraced her grays on the red carpet in 2022 with a lengthy hairstyle courtesy of icy platinum blonde extensions blended into her silver strands.
In 2024, Mirren opened up to PEOPLE about embracing her individuality. In an interview, she proclaimed that she doesn’t fall into the category of “beautiful people in the world.” But, “We are all individuals and we all have our own individuality. And I think ultimately it’s just embracing that and allowing yourself to be what you are,” she said.
