Unconventional wedding rings and engagement rings break from traditional ring styles with alternative designs rarely chosen by past generations.
The conventional idea of an engagement ring and wedding ring consisted of a singular (solitaire) diamond ring worn alongside a plain wedding ring.
Many couples now break away from tradition to adopt and explore a variety of exciting designs deviating from standard, generic ring styles. Many couples now choose unusual wedding rings—either paired with traditional engagement rings or chosen as a result of a non-traditional engagement ring.
The popularity of new traditions showcased by celebrities draws attention to the near-infinite variety of styles available.
Unorthodox engagement rings demand shaped wedding rings
The choice of alternative engagement rings often demands unconventional wedding rings. This may be due to the shape of the band, which is required to sit neatly alongside the original ring. For example, the engagement ring below adopts bold, unconventional styling and demands a specially shaped band to fit.

How we create a non-standard design
Today’s cutting-edge technology enables our designers to sculpt a design in 3D digital imagery for the client to see. The engagement ring is scanned to ensure the wedding ring shapes accurately alongside the original ring.

Wedding rings for offbeat engagement rings
Occasionally, we create engagement rings based on ring styles typically worn as eternity rings or dress rings. For example, we recently created an unusual wave-styled diamond ring worn as an engagement ring. As part of the ring commission, we were tasked with creating a shaped band to fit. At the same time, our brief involved a simple design unlikely to detract beauty from the original ring.
The result was a simple, wavy band running around the engagement ring, following the outline with a slightly broader width.

Quirky wedding rings bursting with personality
At the opposite end of the offbeat spectrum, we often transform regular plain wedding rings into new, different, whimsical and free-spirited ring styles. Most commissions involve highly-customised effects added to the inner or outer surface of a ring. One of our best-selling designs features the combined effect of two fingerprints merged into a heart pattern when placed together.

Clients can order each ring directly from the prepared design on our website, or they can reach out for in-depth guidance in person from our team.
