They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.” However, it’s likely that even as the duo continues to sort through their differences, Sweeney won’t be wearing the four-carat ring, raising the question of what will happen to the diamond. Typically, when a couple calls off an engagement, if they end on good terms, the receiver of the sparkler will automatically return it to the person who purchased it. But if the split isn’t amicable, who gets to keep the ring will often depend on the state the couple lives in. In California, where Davino and Sweeney appear to spend the majority of their time—and where the actress owns two properties, an engagement ring is considered a conditional gift under the law. As a result, the Euphoria star would be expected to return the jewel to Davino.
