What to Know About Normani’s 4-Carat Oval Engagement Ring

In addition to announcing his new contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, March 13, 2025, DeKaylin Zecharius “DK” Metcalf had some other exciting news to share: his recent engagement to Normani. After signing the papers, he headed to his introductory press conference for the team, where he revealed more details about the proposal. “Hold that rock up, baby,” the wide receiver said to his fiancée, who was in attendance at the media event. When asked about how the engagement unfolded, the athlete said it happened in Houston. “My family and her family [were] in Houston,” he said. “It was my sister’s spring break and just thought about getting the whole family together for a big kumbaya and joining our families with a ring.” 

The sparkler is a three- to four-carat oval diamond set on a solitaire ring, says Olivia Landeau, the founder and CEO of The Clear Cut. “This is a classic and timeless style ring,” she adds. “Depending on the quality and assuming it is a natural diamond, something similar could range between $40,000 to $100,000 [or more].” The former Fifth Harmony singer subtly showed off the piece as Metcalf signed his contract with the AFC North team. In an Instagram video posted by the Steelers, the wide receiver made sure to mention his love for his partner: “Shoutout to my beautiful fiancée for being here with me.” In his trade from the Seattle Seahawks to the Steelers, Metcalf agreed to an extension on his contract through 2029 that’s reportedly worth $150 million. 

The duo, who have been dating since 2023, were introduced by Russell Wilson, a former teammate of Metcalf’s on the Seahawks and current free agent on the Steelers, and his wife, Ciara. In a video with Elle in May 2024, Normani revealed that Ciara was the one who set her up with the football player. The two couples appear to remain close, as they all recently celebrated the news of the engagement over FaceTime. A TikTok video posted by Ciara showed a screenshot of the call between the four of them. “@Russell Wilson and I knew when we introed y’all 3yrs ago.. Love was truly in the air!,” she wrote in the caption. “Now y’all gon be booed up forever!! This is the best news! @DK Metcalf @Normani we love y’all so much!” 

While Normani and Metcalf were first linked in June 2023, after being spotted out on a date in Los Angeles, the R&B singer waited until July 2023 to seemingly confirm their partnership, posting an since-deleted Instagram photo of the two of them at a wedding, according to Elle. However, the singer unveiled more about her relationship with Metcalf in a Rolling Stone piece a year later. “I’m happy,” she said in the June 2024 interview. “I am very happy. Definitely an answered prayer. I’ve experienced a lot with relationships. I’m a real lover girl. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and finding space where that’s reciprocated feels good. I like to see myself happy. I really do. He definitely inspired a few [songs].”
