Project Carbon Arrow – My G82 M4 Track Build for Time Attack & Endurance Racing

BIMMERPOST

Hey everyone,I wanted to share my G82 M4 track build, which I’ve named Project Carbon Arrow. The goal for this car is to compete in time attack series and amateur endurance races. The build is focused on maximizing mechanical grip, reliability, and driver safety, while still keeping it raw and engaging. There’s still a lot of work ahead (especially in aero), but here’s where we are right now.

Specs Overview:

  • Engine: S58 tuned to ~630hp
  • Roll Cage: GT3-spec by Ireco Motorsport
  • Seats: RECARO Pro Racer SPG HANS XL
  • Harnesses: Sparco 6-point FIA, aluminum 2” PRIME H-9 EVO
  • Fire Safety: OMP One Collection fire suppression system + 2kg handheld extinguisher
  • Heater: 12V electric (removed OEM HVAC)
  • AP Racing / Essex BBK – 372mm front, 365mm rear
  • Endless ME22 pads – 25mm front / 16.75mm rear

  • Carbon driveshaft by Krawczyk

  • HR sway bars: 30mm front / 27mm rear
  • Moton 3-way adjustable coilovers
  • Polyurethane bushings (front LCA & differential)
  • HJS Sport FIA cat + custom DP&exhaust
  • RaceTCS traction control
  • Ravenol coolant&oil
  • Castrol SRF brake fluid
  • Full carbon–Kevlar kit: hood, roof, front & rear fenders, doors, trunk lid, front bumper
  • Wheels(Square): R18x11J

Current Alignment Settings:

  • Front: Camber -4° | Toe -0.05° | Caster 7.5°
  • Rear: Camber -3° | Toe +0.15°

Weight: 1,435 kg (with 25L fuel)

I still have a lot of plans for aerodynamic improvements (splitter, diffuser, underbody, etc.), and I’ll be updating this thread as things progress.

If anyone here has experience setting up the G82 for track use—especially for endurance racing—I’d really appreciate your input. Alignment tweaks, aero tips, brake cooling ideas—anything that worked for you, please share!

Thanks for reading & looking forward to your feedback!
