EXCLUSIVE: Emmy-winning actor, writer, director and producer Dan Levy has signed with CAA.
Levy had been without agency representation since leaving WME in November — at least in part over circumstances related to his upcoming Netflix series — with CAA quickly emerging as his likely destination. That has now been made official.
Levy co-created, executive produces and stars in the comedy series, which is awaiting formal green light from Netflix. It is part of the overall film and TV deal Levy and his Not a Real Production Company have at the global streamer that included his film directorial debut, Good Grief, which he also wrote, produced, and starred in alongside Ruth Negga and Himesh Patel.
Levy is best known for his work as co-creator, writer, director and star of Schitt’s Creek, which swept the 2020 Emmys for its final season with nine wins, seven during the main telecast. Levy took home four that night, for acting, writing, directing as well a shared Outstanding Comedy series trophy.
Levy also made history last year co-hosting the 76th Emmy Awards with his father, Schitt’s Creek co-creator and co-star Eugene Levy, marking them as the first father-son pair to host the show. In 2024, Dan Levy also guest starred on the final season of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and had a role in the Netflix movie Unfrosted.
Coming up for Levy is Legendary’s hybrid live-action/animated feature Animal Friends, in which he stars alongside Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, and Aubrey Plaza; Paramount‘s animated Smurfs movie alongside Rihanna and Natasha Lyonne; as well as Kornel Mundruczó’s drama At the Sea.
He continues to be represented by Michael Diamond and Cora Olson at Range; David Krintzman and Kristi Eddington at Yorn Levine; and Nesma Youssef at 42West.
