After months of speculation, Chloë Grace Moretz has seemingly confirmed her engagement to model Kate Harrison, her girlfriend of six years. To kick off 2025, the Kick-Ass actress posted on January 1, 2025, an Instagram photo dump featuring some highlights from the past year—one of which included a pair of diamond rings on that finger.
The second-to-last image in the roundup (among other memorable moments from 2024) shows Moretz’s left hand interlocked with girlfriend’s; in the photo, Moretz—dressed in a button-up denim shirt with rolled-up sleeves—has her back to a rocky cliffside alongside a body of water, hinting at a possible beach proposal. The focus of the image is a pair of matching round-cut diamonds: Harrison’s appears to be set in a thick, diamond-encrusted band, while Moretz’s seems to include a basket setting and a yellow-gold hue. In another portrait of Moretz within the carousel, the diamond ring makes another appearance.
The Carrie star’s caption also seems to allude to an engagement that took place in 2024. “Happiest New Year❤️,” she wrote. “so thankful for what this year has brought. The people, the places, our families, our health, our love. Wishing all of you a peaceful start to this new year ❤️.” It appears that her fans and followers put two and two together. “oh my god congratulations for your engagement ???” one Instagram user emphasized. “and happy new year ❤️.” Another commented, “the photo of the rings 🥺.”

Although neither partner specified exactly when the proposal occurred, the relationship milestone likely happened early last year. The actress has been spotted sporting a diamond ring on her left ring finger since as early as April 2024. At Louis Vuitton Woman’s Voyager Pre-Fall 2024 Collection Show in Shanghai, Moretz paired her black mesh top, feather-trimmed blazer, and black wide-legged leather pants with a diamond ring, which piqued the public’s fascination. Eagle-eyed fans also noticed that the couple had baubles on their ring fingers when they were photographed in Disneyland that same month. The two continued to upload photos of themselves rocking the diamond accessories on their respective social media platforms throughout the rest of the year—without addressing any of the rumors.

Moretz was first romantically linked to Harrison in 2019, when they were seen locking lips in Malibu, California, according to E! News. Three years later, Moretz mentioned in an interview with The i Paper that she was in a “long-term” relationship. “I like to keep my private life private—and I really enjoy that,” she told the publication.
