The 2026 Geely EX5 is getting a new, larger battery as part of an upgrade for the mid-size electric SUV, Australian pricing and specifications for which have appeared online ahead of the official local reveal.
Pricing published by industry guide Redbook reveals the EX5 will continue to be available in two variants for 2026 – the Complete and Inspire – however, they feature a new Extended Range battery.
This coincides with price rises of $1000, bringing the Complete to $41,990 before on-road costs and the Inspire to $45,990 before on-roads.

Per the Redbook listing, the EX5 Extended Range uses a 68.4kWh battery offering 475km of range on the WLTP cycle in Complete trim, and 450km for the top-spec Inspire.
The outgoing EX5 uses a 60.22kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery good for 430km of WLTP range in Complete trim, and 410km in the Inspire.
Outputs from the single, front-mounted electric motor are unchanged at 160kW of power and 320Nm of torque.
With no extra grunt and an extra 50kg of weight, the EX5 is slightly slower. Per Redbook, it does the 0-100km/h dash in 7.6 seconds in Complete trim and 7.4 seconds in Inspire guise, up from 6.9 seconds and 7.1 seconds respectively in the outgoing model.

Also listed on Redbook is a new premium paint option, Jungle Green, which was first seen on the Geely Starray plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV.
Apart from the addition of a cargo cover for both the Complete and Inspire, the features list appears otherwise unchanged.
The EX5 was the debut model for Geely Auto Australia, with customer deliveries commencing in March 2025.
The model got off to a strong start here as, despite not being on sale for the full year, it notched up 3944 deliveries in 2025.

That saw the EX5 outsell rivals including the BYD Atto 3 (3861), Deepal S07 (287) and Leapmotor C10 (579).
The EX5 was joined in local Geely showrooms later in 2025 by another mid-size SUV, the Starray PHEV.
The last time Geely’s namesake brand was seen in Australia was during the early 2010s, when it was managed by an independent distributor.
While the Geely brand had a false start here more than a decade ago, more widely available Geely-owned brands like Polestar and Zeekr have since joined stalwarts including Volvo and Lotus.
